Mr. Coder has had a distinguished career in a variety of functional areas for more than 35 years. This includes executive leadership, business development, product development, finance, mergers & acquisitions, and turnarounds.

He has served as Vice President of Administration and CFO for Armis Biopharma since October, 2020. He has served as Corporate Secretary to the Armis Board of Directors since June 2020.

He was the President and co-founder of an ecommerce startup launched in early 2014. Previously, Mr. Coder was the President, CEO, and member of the Board of Directors for Mayline. Mayline was a private equity backed manufacturer and distributor of mid-market office furniture. He developed and implemented the strategy leading the organization to a much improved reputation and revitalized the product offering repositioning the company for growth within the contract furniture segment. Prior to Mayline, Mr. Coder served in a variety of executive positions with HNI (formally HON INDUSTRIES). He held three senior executive roles within the HON Company, the largest of HNI’s operating companies. As SBU Vice President he had profit & loss responsibility for two business units with revenue aggregating $700 million. In one of those businesses he led a small team that grew and launched a new product taking the group from $25 million to $100 million in five years. He also served as Vice President and Controller leading the finance department for the HON Company with revenue of $1.2 billion and operating 16 manufacturing plants. While working at HON Industries Corporate Finance Department he assisted in the CFO in M&A initiatives and transferred to a newly acquired subsidiary as its Controller. He was promoted to Director of Operations while maintaining his Controller responsibilities. He led the company through its lean conversion working with one of the designers of Toyota’s Production Process. The team was able to drastically cut lead-time and improved operational metrics of complete & on-time delivery, quality, and inventory reduction. The company was recognized multiple times as “#1 Supplier” by Boise Cascade. His team completed integration of multiple acquisitions and product lines. The value created enabled HNI to profit on the divestiture. He was instrumental in executing the sale of this company.

Mr. Coder began his career as an auditor with Ernst & Whinney in Chicago. He has also chaired numerous fund-raising initiatives for the City of Hope research hospital out of Los Angeles and multiple campaigns for local non-profit agencies. He has also served on numerous volunteer boards. Mr. Coder received a B.S. in Industrial Administration from Iowa State University and is a certified public accountant.
